I was born and grew up in Brooklyn, New York
My education and career were entirely unrelated to the pursuit of creative photography. They focused on science, mathematics, computer science and finance.
I became seriously interested in photography in my teens, starting out with Zeiss Ikon and Mentorette (DLR), the fourth and fifth film cameras in the photo above. The first SLR I ever used was my father's Asahi Pentax Spotmatic, the sixth camera in the photo above. I bought my first SLR, a Nikkormat, shortly after graduating from college. I sold it in order to buy the Nikon F2 (#7 above), which I used until 2001, when I bought my first digital camera. My primary camera is currently a Nikon D850 DSLR (not shown). I have used almost all of the cameras in the photo above.
